Epoxy Reactive Diluents generally refer to low-molecular compounds with one or more than two epoxy groups. They can directly participate in the curing reaction of epoxy resin and become part of the cross-linked network structure of epoxy resin cured products. Has almost no effect, and sometimes increases the toughness of the cured system.

Epoxy Reactive Diluents

(1) Epoxy Reactive Diluents can not only dissolve or disperse film-forming substances, but also participate in the film-forming reaction during the coating film-forming process, forming a class of compounds that remain in the coating film without volatile components. Primarily used in high solids and solvent-free coating systems. It can be divided into: glycidol, used for solvent-free epoxy paint; terminal two (or three, four) acrylates, used for light curing coatings; high hydroxyl value polyester, polyether, used for high solid content coatings .

(2) Diluents that participate in the reaction during the process of diluting the adhesive. The molecule contains active groups, which can react with the curing agent of the adhesive without gas escape, and generally have no effect on the performance of the cured adhesive layer. When using, the amount of curing agent should be increased, and the amount of increase should be calculated according to the active group of the diluent. It is mostly used in epoxy resin adhesives. The main varieties are monoepoxy propenyl glycidyl ether, phenyl glycidyl ether, diepoxy ethylene glycol bisglycidyl ether, resorcinol bisglycidyl ether, etc.
