Phenalkamine hardeners usually refer to modified amine curing agents such as phenols, aldehydes and polyamines through Mannich condensation.
Through modification, phenalkamines reduce the volatility, irritation and toxicity of organic amines. The ratio of phenalkamine to epoxy resin is wide, and the curing reaction speed can be adjusted and controlled. After the Mannich reaction, a phenolic skeleton is introduced into the structure of the phenalkamine, which improves the heat resistance of the cured product. The phenolic hydroxyl group is also introduced into the structure, which promotes the reactivity of the curing agent and reduces the curing reaction temperature with the epoxy resin.
Phenalkamine hardeners have fast curing reaction and can be cured at low temperature; good chemical resistance, good acid and alkali corrosion resistance; wet base surface can be cured, good water resistance; according to the choice of amine, phenalkamine has good flexibility .
