It is a clear, essentially and colorless and light yellow liquid with a typical amine odor. It is a weakly basic, it can be soluble in water, benzene, heptane, and other organic solvents as an intermediate it is used for example for the sythesis of agro chemicals and surfactants. DMAPA is used in water treatment chemicals and as catalyst for PU and Epoxy polymerisations.
