BEP is a type of epoxy resin which is widely used. Its versatility makes it unmatchable among other epoxies, and it can be bonded with other substances without losing its strength. BEP has good mechanical properties which allow it to take on some degree of abuse and chemical protection, safeguarding surfaces from common chemical substances. BEP is extensively used in corrosion resistant coatings, structural adhesives, and advanced composites. While widely used, there's growing concern on the health effects of bisphenol A, which is why studies are being done towards formulations that omit BPA.
