An epoxy primer’s water base is less toxic than solvent-based versions. It replaces water for solvents, which lowers VOCs and emissions. While the primer is soluble in water, its ability to adhere to metals, concrete, and wood does not change. It forms a strong protective shield improves adhesion of subsequent coatings while providing corrosion resistance and barrier protection. Due to low odor and fast drying time, water-based epoxy primers are best for homes and indoor locations and any location that has strict environmental regulations.
